Tofu?? Banana tofu?? I didn’t know Banana flavored tofu would be this good either, but incase you haven’t ever tried or even heard about it, it makes for an amazing substitute (or addition) to almost any dessert or smoothie. I might be behind the curve on this little invention but it’s been a long time coming. I love it! There’s many different flavors and firmness, so the possibilities are endless. I just wanted to share with you my very first of many drinks to come. It
1 package of banana flavored tofu (I used Sunrise-Soya brand)
2 frozen bananas
1-2 Tbsp of PB&Me Peanut Butter
1.5 to 2 Cups of Chocolate Almond Milk (depending on how thick or thin you prefer)
All you need to do is simply throw it all together in a blender, mix, and drink. But wait… You might have some confusion about “PB&Me.” Since the whole reason of making this drink is to have a healthier alternative to real chocolate and peanut butter, we want to use a product called PB&Me which comes as dry powder (but in the same looking container as regular peanut butter). It turns into a light colored peanut butter once you mix it with some water in a separate bowl. It’s a little weird sounding but AMAZING in every way. It’s almost the same price as peanut butter, but has a huge difference in taste, texture, and doesn’t come with as much regret after eating. For decorations you can sprinkle a little bit of coconut and/or granola onto. Maybe you can cheat and slap some cool whip on top (but that’s none of my business).
P.S. If this recipe of 4 ingredients still seems pretty time consuming (I know we all feel like doing the minimum some times), then simply freezing a few bananas before blending it with chocolate almond milk makes for a great chocolate banana shake that is both delicious and healthy.
